Tom Martin joined the Agricultural Technology faculty in 2005, while continuing his Ph.D. work with the Department of Horticulture.  He is a long time Hokie, having received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Virginia Tech.  Tom teaches primarily in the Landscape and Turf Management option for AT, enjoying his time covering Landscape Design, Landscape Contracting, Horticulture Production, Woody and Herbaceous Plants, and Agricultural Chemistry.  He has more than 10 years of experience in the nursery and landscape industry, including work in the design, contracting, retail, and production aspects of the field. Tom lives in Radford with his wife and three children. He spends his time kayaking, hiking, vainly attempting to make music on his guitar, ceaselessly renovating his Victorian home, and unsuccessfully trying to keep track of his kids.
