Several options for financial aid are offered through the Virginia Tech Office of University Scholarships and Financial Aid.
More than 500 scholarships valued at $200 to $9,000 each with a total value of more than $750,000 are awarded each year to students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Scholarship decisions are based on academic achievement, participation in extracurricular activities, career goals, and financial need.
To be considered for any scholarships in the college, students must complete the online college scholarship application. For more information about scholarships in the college, please contact Cindy Beatty, (540) 231-6503 or email@example.com. Apply for scholarships.
All students who wish to be considered for college scholarships are strongly encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). A majority of the college scholarships are based on financial need and only students with documented financial need will be considered for those scholarships. The 2014-2015 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be available after January 1, 2014.
The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences online scholarship application will be available early December, and the application deadline is March 1. The majority of freshmen and transfer scholarships are awarded in late March, and the majority of returning student scholarships are awarded in mid-June. Students will receive an email notification from the associate dean of academic programs and a follow-up, printed copy of the award letter with additional details.
