The world's increasing globalization requires more interaction among people from diverse cultures, beliefs, and backgrounds than ever before. People no longer live and work in an insular marketplace; they are now part of a worldwide economy with competition coming from nearly every continent. For this reason, Virginia Tech students need to develop skills and sensitivities to manage and work in a diverse environment.
To help meet this need, the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, are hosting an educational experience for their students. Through presentations and practical workshops by speakers from our sponsors and university faculty, participants will be challenged to think about their perceptions and feelings about diversity and build skills to be successful in a diverse workplace.
This program is free and open to all students, but space is limited and pre-registration is required. Dinner is included at no cost.
