Overview

This award was established in 1999 to honor Frank Beamer, an alumnus of the Class of 1969 and former Virginia Tech football player, who has demonstrated outstanding athletic leadership to Virginia Tech. As the coach of Hokies he has brought Virginia Tech’s football program to the national limelight. Under his direction the Hokies had their first undefeated season which ended with their debut in the National Championship Bowl game in 2000. Throughout his years in this leadership role he has shown a high degree of integrity and humility. 

Eligibility (Who can apply / be nominated)

Any student member of the campus community is eligible and does NOT have to be a member of ODK. 

Selection Criteria (How recipients will be chosen)

It is in this spirit that we wish to recognize an individual who has excelled as a leader in one of the five following areas: Scholarship, Campus, Government, Local and Religious Affairs, Publications, Performing Arts, and Athletics.
