McNair Scholars Program

Overview

This program is fully funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.  The program is designed to encourage and prepare undergraduates for success in doctoral study by offering mentoring, academic counseling, research experience, and GRE preparation.  In addition, the program supports and encourages attendance and presentation at research conferences and seminars across the country and abroad.  The program focuses on serving first generation college students from low income backgrounds, or students from underrepresented in graduation education.

Eligibility (Who can apply / be nominated)

Completed 60 credits
Full-time study
2.75 minumum GPA
First generation, low income student, or underrepresented in graduate education
