Overview

This award has been created to recognize an outstanding program coordinated by an officially listed student organization that has had a significant impact on the University community.

Eligibility (Who can apply / be nominated)

Programs submitted should have occurred during Spring 2004 through December 2004.

Selection Criteria (How recipients will be chosen)

The program will be evaluated based on supporting documentation and responses to the following categories:

1.  Goals:  How does this submitted program meet your organization’s purpose and/or goals?  Explain how this program assists the organization in enhancing the University mission?  What originated this idea?
2.  Planning and Preparation:  A) Elaborate on target audience B) Describe the program design C) What were the intended outcomes D) Explain any problems you had to overcome and your response to them E) List all campus resources that contributed to the success of the program F) Include the program’s budget and identify funding sources.
3.  Publicity and Promotion:  Describe the strategy used to reach your targeted audience.  Include documentation of publicity mediums use (posters, flyers, email—submit pictures of larger or bulky items)
4.  Evaluation:  A) Was the program successful (how do you define success)?  B) Based on the outcome of this program, describe the most significant changes that will be made if the program was offered again.
5.  Campus support:  Each program may have up to two letters of support from a faculty/administrative staff and a student.  Each letter should elaborate on the value of the program to the university’s overall mission.

Packet Requirements (What to submit)

All applicants must submit an application cover sheet, recommendation form, statement of purpose, and membership roster.
