The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences has long encouraged international involvement by both its students and faculty.

Since the early 1960s, the College’s students and faculty members have been involved in conducting research projects overseas and assisting in international development.

  • Today, 72 percent of the college’s classes have an international component and 97 percent of the faculty either are now, or have been, engaged in international work.
  • Last year, college activities engaged collaborators in some 63 countries with collaborations in Canada, China, Mali, and South Africa being the largest.
  • During the past two years, 47 college faculty members have participated in significant international activities.
  • In the previous academic year, 26 college faculty members participated directly in multidisciplinary international projects that provided support for ten College graduate students.
  • Over the past two years, 51 international visiting scholars have participated in CALS programs.
