BLACKSBURG, Va., March 28, 2002 -- Robert Edward Barber II, a junior at Virginia Tech, has been awarded a scholarship to pursue his studies in animal and poultry sciences.
The son of Bob and Beth Barber of Galax, he has been named a recipient of the $1,000 George G. Green Scholarship for the coming fall semester.
He is active in the Block and Bridle Club and Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity.
Laura Cornett, a junior at Virginia Tech, has been awarded a scholarship to pursue her studies in animal and poultry sciences.
The daughter of Robert Cornett and Mary Beth Cornett, both of Salem, she has been named a recipient of the $1,000 Animal and Poultry Sciences Scholarship for the coming fall semester.
She is active in the Block and Bridle Club, the Equestrian Club, the Virginia Tech Riding Team, and Collegiate Young Farmers. She also serves as a teaching assistant for an introductory class in animal and poultry sciences. Other recognition Cornett has received includes the dean's list and membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Sarah Grim, a freshman at Virginia Tech, has been awarded a scholarship to pursue her studies in animal and poultry sciences.
The daughter of Mark and Myra Grim of Floyd, she has been named a recipient of the $1,000 A.L. "Ike" Eller Scholarship for the coming fall semester.
She is active in the Dairy Club, Sigma Alpha, and showing lambs. Grim was recognized by Who's Who in American High School Students for her academic achievements in 2000 and 2001.
Jennifer Bulot of Blacksburg, a junior at Virginia Tech, has been awarded a scholarship to pursue her studies in animal and poultry sciences.
The daughter of Rita Fran Norris and Charles Lynn Bulot, she has been named a recipient of the $1000 Animal and Poultry Sciences Scholarship for the coming fall semester.
She is active in Alpha Chi Omega.
