BLACKSBURG, Va., March 28, 2002 -- Glenn Ian Taylor, a junior at Virginia Tech, has been awarded a scholarship to pursue his studies in animal and poultry sciences.
The son of Terry Taylor of Bon Air and Karen When, he has been named a recipient of the $1,500 Denver D. Bragg Poultry Science Student Leader Scholarship for the coming fall semester.
He is active in the Block and Bridle Club, the Poultry Club, the VPI Cave Club, and the Young Farmers' collegiate chapter. Taylor has been named to the dean's list in recognition for his academic achievements.
Diana Young, a sophomore at Virginia Tech, has been awarded a scholarship to pursue her studies in animal and poultry sciences.
The daughter of Gerald and Vicki Young of Fredericksburg, she has been named a recipient of the $2,500 Ralph Hunt Beef Industry Student Leader scholarship for the coming fall semester.
She is active in the Block and Bridle Club, and serves as a teaching assistant for Introduction to Animal Science. Young represents the Department of Animal and Poultry Science as a student ambassador.
Meghan Rice of Chesterfield, a sophomore at Virginia Tech, has been awarded a scholarship to pursue her studies in animal and poultry sciences.
The daughter of Patricia Rice and James Rice, she has been named a recipient of the $2,500 Litton Sheep Industry Student Leader Scholarship for the coming fall semester.
She is active in horseback riding, artistic roller skating, and the Block and Bridle Club.
