BLACKSBURG, Va., April 4, 2002 Rachel Sabrina Griffin, a sophomore at Virginia Tech, has been awarded a scholarship to pursue her studies in animal and poultry sciences.
The daughter of Joseph and Linda Griffin of Rockville, Md., she has been named a recipient of the $750 Harry Wyatt Scholarship for the coming fall semester.
Edwin W. "Skip" Coles Jr., a sophomore at Virginia Tech, has been awarded a scholarship to pursue his studies in animal and poultry sciences.
The son of Skip and Stacy Coles of Pilesgrove, N.J., he has been named a recipient of the $2,500 Rocco Lamb Farms Student Leadership Scholarship for the coming fall semester.
He is active in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the Dairy Club, and the Student Ambassador Program. Coles has also been recognized for his achievements by the National FFA Dairy Judging Team, the New Jersey State FFA Livestock Judging Team, the New Jersey 4-H Dairy Judging Team, and placement on the dean's list.
Thomas O'Hare, a junior at Virginia Tech, has been awarded a scholarship to pursue his studies in animal and poultry sciences.
The son of Hugh and Susan O'Hare of Pompton Plains, N.J., he has been named a recipient of the $1,500 Owen Thomas Jr. Memorial Scholarship for the coming fall semester.
He is active in the Poultry Club, the Block and Bridle Club, the Pre-Vet Club, and serves as an Animal and Poultry Sciences Student Ambassador.
Melinda Cep, a sophomore at Virginia Tech, has been awarded a scholarship to pursue her studies in animal and poultry sciences.
The daughter of William and Sandra Cep of Cordova, Md., she has been named a recipient of the $1,000 William Earl Browning Scholarship for the coming fall semester.
She is active in the Equestrian Club, the Microbiology Club, the 4-H program, and Campus Crusade for Christ. Cep has also been named to the dean's list in recognition for her academic achievement.
