Committee on Academic Programs and Policies (CAPP)

Welcome!

Welcome to the Committee on Academic Programs and Policies (CAPP) website. The CAPP committee's (otherwise known as the college curriculum committee) tasks are reviewing and approving new/revised course proposals, revised undergraduate check sheets, new/revised options, and new degree programs at both the undergraduate and graduate level.  The committee is made up of faculty from various departments within the college. Click here to to view the university guidelines and procedures for the review process.

If you are new to the course approval process it is suggested that you review the registrars links listed below. Also, if you plan on submitting a course proposal it is encouraged that you meet with the CAPP chair in order to review your proposal before it is sent to the CAPP secretary. Finally, we encourage you to attend the CAPP meeting when your proposal will be reviewed. This will allow committee members to ask questions for clarification and will help to expedite the approval process.

In order to submit a proposal, you must submit relevant documents to both Anna Taylor (CAPP secretary) and Ruth Lytton (CAPP Chair). Please send (1) a HARD COPY of your proposal with original signatures to Anna Taylor, 1060 Litton Reaves, Mail Code 0334 and (2) an ELECTRONIC COPY of your proposal as a SINGLE pdf document (cover sheet, cover letter(s), justification for changes, proposal, and prior version(s)) to Anna Taylor and Ruth Lytton. Please check the curricula approval progress chart to see where your course is in the system.
