AAEC-Econ Graduate Student Association

Organization facilitating social interaction among graduate students and faculty members, providing academic support to graduate students, and representing interests of graduates students on campus. Affiliation: Dept. of Agricultural and Applied Economics.

Ag Econ/NAMA Club

Professional educational, social, and teamwork development in the fields of agri-business, agri-marketing, and applied agricultural economics. Affiliation: Dept. of Agricultural and Applied Economics.

Agricultural Education Society

Professional society for current and aspiring agricultural education teachers, providing professional development and networking opportunities. Affiliation: Dept. of Agricultural and Extension Education.

Agronomy Club

Leadership, fellowship, and educational opportunities through participation in agricultural sciences-related activities at the local, state, and national levels. Affiliation: Dept. of Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences.

Alpha Epsilon, Virginia Eta Chapter

The honor society of agricultural, food, and biological engineering promoting the high ideals of the engineering profession. Affiliation: Dept. of Biological Systems Engineering.

Alpha Gamma Rho

Social and professional fraternity for young men pursuing a career related to agriculture or natural resources. The fraternity is located on a historic six acre plantation near the outskirts of town. Affiliation: College.

Alpha Zeta, Virginia Chapter

Professional, service, and honorary fraternity for men and women to foster high standards of scholarship, character, leadership, and a spirit of fellowship, and to promote the profession of agriculture. Affiliation: College.

Animal Nutrition Club

To promote interest in animal nutrition in the areas of research, education, and careers. Recruitment of undergraduate scholars through informational meetings and guest lectures.

ASAE, Society for Engineering in Agricultural, Food, and Biological Systems

The professional and technical society dedicated to the advancement of engineering applicable to agricultural, food, and biological systems. Affiliation: Biological Systems Engineering Department.

Biochemistry Club

Educational and social club for students of all academic levels involved in the study of biochemistry. Affiliation: Dept. of Biochemistry.

Block and Bridle Club

Professional and social club to promote higher scholastic standards and more complete understanding of animal science among students through events and programs. Affiliation: Dept. of Animal and Poultry Sciences.

College of Agriculture & Life Sciences Ambassadors

Ambassadors are undergraduate students who are advocates for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. By representing the student body, Ambassadors have been placed into a position of leadership and service. Affiliation: College.

Leadership, advancement of leaders in the Agriculture industry.

Dairy Club

Professional club to promote greater understanding of the dairy industry among students and the community through social, educational, and fund-raising events. Affiliation: Dept. of Dairy Science.

Environmental Student Organization

Student-led organization emphasizing environmental interests. Professional, educational, social, service, and leadership opportunities. Affiliation: Dept. of Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences.

Equestrian Club

Interest club to promote understanding of equine species, their characteristics, and care; to sponsor the Intercollegiate Riding Team; and to provide opportunities for involvement in equine-related activities. Affiliation: Dept. of Animal and Poultry Sciences.

FarmHouse Fraternity

FarmHouse Fraternity is for gentlemen of all majors with an interest in agriculture, who are high in scholarship, of good moral character, who value social opportunity without alcohol, and desire to serve their fellowmen and the world.

Fitness and Nutrition Club (FAN)

Raise awareness about nutrition and fitness to Virginia Tech Students and the surrounding community. Affiliation: Dept. of Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise.

Food Science Club

To promote the professional growth of students through involvement with the Institute of Food Technologists, and through education and service activities. Affiliation: Dept. of Food Science and Technology.

Horticulture Club

Professional club promoting horticulture and the horticulture industry among students, the community and statewide through social, educational, and professional activities. Affiliation: Dept. of Horticulture.

Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS)

Promote careers by encouraging research by undergraduate and graduate students; fostering scholarly achievement and excellence; and providing a local and national network of support for members. Affiliation: College.

Physical Therapy Club

An organization for students interested in the physical therapy profession.

Pi Alpha Xi

Originally established to unify students, educators, and professional horticulturists. Promote high scholarship, fellowship, professional leadership, and the enrichment of human life through plants. Affiliation: Horticulture.

Poultry Science Club

Promote the academic and professional development of students through poultry judging activities, exhibits, field trips, tours and other activities, and assist members seeking scholarships, internships and experience in the industry. Affiliation: Dept. of Animal and Poultry Sciences.

Pre-Veterinary Club

Pre-professional club promoting the study of veterinary medicine through educational, service, fund raising, and recreational opportunities. Affiliation: Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.

Sigma Alpha Sorority

Professional sorority fostering the study of agriculture among women by promoting scholarship, leadership, service, and sisterhood. Activities include philanthropies, socials, rushes, and educational services. Affiliation: University.

Student Dietetics Association

Social and educational organization for students preparing for careers in dietetics. Affiliation: Dept. of Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise.

Swine Club

Involving students in swine production, activities, and research.

Turfgrass Club of Virginia Tech

Social and educational club to promote professional and social interaction among students and to encourage a fuller understanding of the work of turf managers and to promote cooperation with them. Affiliation: Dept. of Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences.

Collegiate 4-H

VT Collegiate 4-H is an organization that provides its members with a sense of identity on campus, enriches their lives through group projects and recreation, and develops confidence and leadership skills. Clubs provide service and support to their local and state 4-H programs, such as serving as judges and conducting training workshops. They are also a service and social group for campus students. Affiliation: Virginia Cooperative Extension.

W.B. Alwood Entomological Society

Educational and social organization concerned with entomology and open to all members of the university community which also serves as the focus of support to graduate students in the department. Affiliation: Dept. of Entomology.

Young Farmers

A chapter that provides students interested in agriculture and rural communities leadership, educational, legislative, networking, and social opportunities. In association with Virginia Farm Bureau and American Farm Bureau Federations. Affiliation: College.

Judging and Competition Teams

Judging teams and competition teams provide opportunities for students to develop leadership and public presentation skills while putting to use the technical skills they learn in class as they compete against their peers from universities nationwide. Membership on teams provide an impressive entry on a resume, as well as the opportunity to travel to competitions throughout the United States. Among our current judging teams are:
