O. Bryan Taliaferro, Jr.

Bryan, along with two brothers, David and Bill, is part owner of two family businesses, Montague Farms, Inc. and Agriland.  Agriland is a farming partnership engaged in the production of corn soybeans, wheat, and barley. The operation covers 4,000 acres in Virginia's Middle Peninsula.  Montague Farms, with locations in Isle of Wight and Essex Counties, operates grain elevators with specialized equipment for cleaning and preparing soybeans for processing into specialty foods.  Soybeans are purchased from farmers in the Mid-Atlantic and exported to Japan and elsewhere.

Bryan is a member and past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Agribusiness Council.  He also is a member of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Grain Producers Association.  He is active in his church and recently took a trip to Ghana to distribute mosquito nets in malaria infested areas. While there he observed a need for a tractor to provide primary tillage for village farmers, and on his return led the church and community to purchase and ship the tractor.

Bryan, Virginia Tech Class of 1967, holds BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering.  He and his wife Nancy, class of 1970, live in Essex County, have four children and four grandchildren.
