CALS Travel Support Fund

Amount

Up to $500 per undergraduate, $750 per faculty/staff member, and $3,500 per CALS student organization (per event, per semester).

Deadline

Apply at least 30 days before travel. Hard deadlines: April 1 (for travel May 1–Oct 1) and Nov. 1 (for travel Dec. 1–Feb. 1).

What

Helps cover transportation, lodging, registration, and per diem for academic or professional development travel (conferences, competitions, workshops, faculty-led student trips) that supports the CALS and Virginia Tech mission.

Who should apply

Full-time CALS undergraduates, CALS faculty/staff, and officially recognized CALS-affiliated student organizations.

Good to know

Funds are reimbursed through your home department via Chrome River. Awardees must submit a short reflection/story within 30 days of travel for possible CALS communications features.
