CALSFest RECAP
We are thrilled to share the success of our recent CALSFest! This was a welcome back event for all CALS students, where they got to connect with one another, explore our student clubs, and meet faculty. A total of 568 students attended, along with 26 student organizations from our college. It was a great event filled with music, free giveaways, games, and more!
Thank you for your support in encouraging student participation—we look forward to continuing to provide these enriching experiences for our CALS students!
Course Spotlight: Eating For Your Genes (HNFE 4774)
This course is taught by Dr. Deborah Good (goodd@vt.edu), who is a published author and Associate Professor in the Department of Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise. In class, they use nutritional conditions to teach genetics and genomics. Students learn in silico tools to analyze DNA, and each week cook a breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack for a person with the genetic condition. Some past students have published research based on their final project in class.
Cranwell International Center
Cranwell International Center provides a wide range of programs and services for international students, promotes the development of global and intercultural competence in all students, and positions the university as more globally oriented and internationally connected.
