MSLFS in Horticulture

We are an interdisciplinary program with broad expertise in horticultural (fruit, vegetable, ornamental) crop production, the study of plant growth and development, and plant interactions with the environment. We are committed to improving human life through the cultivation of edible and ornamental crops, as well as the maintenance of sustainable designed and natural outdoor environments. Specific areas of faculty and student research include floriculture, urban horticulture, nursery production, viticulture, pomology, vegetable production, soil microbiology/metagenomics, resilient biofuels crops, ecological pest management, agriculture and climate change, and genome editing for crop improvement.
