The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) is a consortium of 129 African universities in 38 African countries focusing on agricultural capacity building. RUFORUM has planned the Africa Higher Education Week 2021 and Conference from December 6th to 10th in Cotonou, Benin. The blended program brings together various stakeholders in the global agricultural higher education space, aligning with Virginia Tech’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences’ globalization initiatives. Through CALS Global, the college has put together four high-level presentations through side-events that will rightfully place VT on the global stage and share the experiences. The four events include; a research and capacity building 5-year partnership commemoration with Egerton University’s Center of Excellence in Sustainable Agriculture and Agribusiness Management (CESAAM) and other African consortium partners, 2021 GAP Report Launch and panel discussions, workforce development programs in TVET, and positive youth development in Senegal. Being a blended program, the sessions are open to the public. Anyone interested should register to join virtually any time from 0900 to 1630 West African Time on Tuesday, December 7th, 2021.
